never take friendship personal...

[ Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo, NY - 07/03/2008 ]

Unfortunately, I've come to realize that I lose faith in humans a lot. But then, all of a sudden, someone makes me start believing again. It normally comes from someone that I would least expect it from and then I start to realize that maybe there are people out there that care...

...then it all blows up in my face.

These days I really don't understand people. If they don't see it on the TV or on the internet they don't care. How far and hard do you have to reach out to people for help? I'll admit it, I had a nervous breakdown this past week and called nine people crying. Not one picked up...or even returned my phone call. One texted me back, I responded and have yet to hear back from them even though I poured my heart out. How can someone that not only you call a friend, but they call you a friend as well, not even respond? If someone I barely knew reached out to me in need, I'd make an effort to help. I guess that may just be it, no one wants to make the effort anymore. It's so easy to hide behind devices and distance.

How have we become so disconnected from our true neighbors? Why is it easier to sit in a room with some people and text those that aren't there, instead of spending time with the ones you ARE with? I know, I know, I'm guilty of this as well, but I promise you...it's something I'm working on.

It all leads back to this -
Is technology really helping us? Or is it teaching us that real human interaction isn't necessary?

live inspired...

I'm really thankful that thanks again to Stephen Christian and his blog, I have stumbled across something remarkable. I've needed something to uplift me lately, something to inspire me, something to make me feel motivated again! This video/lecture is that. The video is that of Randy Paush's last lecture - "Achieving Your Childhood Dreams."

I really feel as though everyone should watch this, everyone can take something from it. Please, don't write it off because it's a "lecture". That word sounds so harsh, it really is basically a talk, a story, with a learning experience intertwined with his words.

Happy Birthday to ME! :)

Are you where you thought you'd be?
So beautiful and only twenty-three
Opposition wrestle the hearts, with no, with no, with no life fragility
It's not that we don't talk, it's just no one really misses or matters these things
Made a politician lost in the courts, our smiles, and no one remembers our names...
- Reclusion - Anberlin -

I was born 23 years ago today... This song sums up pretty much all of my thoughts currently.

It has been a good week...

Another front pager on buzznet! :) Thank you for suggesting my photos to be featured guys!!

Not going to lie, I've had a good thing going for me right now. Last night was Jesse McCartney (photos up shortly!), which was a blast. I took photos for Kristie so they will be feature on TrashTheStage.net. Anyone who knows me knows that I have a semi-crush on Jesse. Unfortunately, my camera broke during his third song. But, I got some great shots! Can't wait to edit and upload them.

I'm finally getting through all the Warped Tour photos, I'm done with Cleveland, Detroit, Mississauga, and Camden! They are up on my flickr and some on buzznet for your viewing pleasure.

After Jesse, Kristie and I went to Club Paradise to finish "celebrating my birthday" (my birthday is actually Friday). I ended up running into so many people that I either a) haven't seen since high school or b) haven't seen in months. It was surprisingly a lot of fun. Who knows, maybe I'll go again sometime?

Tomorrow will be fun! It's pre-season football time! I seriously love football games so much, our one and only Buffalo Bills home pre-season game is FINALLY tomorrow. (Toronto is NOT home, kthanks) I'm looking forward to it a lot, I miss my tail-gaiting family! Plus, it's kids day which means both my rugrats are going to the game. :)

I'll leave you with some of my favorite photos thus far from my Warped Tour sets:

Left side, left side suicide...

Minor update here, I've uploaded some of my photographs from Cleveland's Warped Tour to my flickr account. I couldn't help but share this photograph with everyone! It's seriously one of my favorites from the day (and I haven't even finished editing yet...). The above photograph is from The Audition's set in Cleveland. I've already uploaded Just Surrender's set from that day as well, go check them out!

Yes, this does mean that I FINALLY have all of my photographs! Kristie came over with the computer and I transferred them all over. It's so weird because I don't even remember taking half of the photographs nor did I even ever look through them, it's a little treasure just for me! Although, all these photographs are making me miss warped tour even more, but that's life!

Well, I'm off to my niece's soccer game camera in hand!

Buzznet features :)

Over the past couple days I've had the pleasure of having several photos featured on Buzznet. If you don't know what Buzznet is, I recommend you check it out! It's a great site for people to see photos, get more exclusive information of your favorite bands and connect with fans/people that have the same interests as you!

Today was a first for me though, I have the
Photo of the Day! The photo chosen was one of the ones of William from my set of The Academy Is... in Camden, NJ. It also was featured on the front page throughout the day, just like my Just Surrender photo was earlier this week! :)

Thanks to Bree and everyone else that has buzzed any of my photographs or have suggested my photographs to be featured! I really appreciate it!

I have tons more photos to edit and upload, I can't wait to show you them all. I'm also excited because the Erie County Fair is starting soon and that means PHOTO ADVENTURE! I went to the Eden Corn Festival this week and planned on bring back some sweet photos, instead my lens acted up and I didn't figure out how to fix it until I got home. Somehow it got jammed, how? I'm not quite sure, I'm just glad it was fixable! Hope everyone's weeks are going great, I look forward to hearing more from you all! :)

Summer Hair Forever Young... - Warped Tour 2008

I have been officially "Warped-less" for five days. Those five days feel like five years. It's weird how in two weeks you can adapt your life so easily to certain things/events/people. I miss the people I saw on a daily basis, was given hugs by, high fives, hearing ridiculously amazing music playing in the background of my entire day, taking photos of stellar people/bands and meeting new people every moment.

Warped Tour
always holds a special place in my heart, I guess that's why the decision I may have to make in a couple months is so hard. An entire summer without even ONE Warped? I guess this is growing up...

The top five things I miss about Warped Tour:
5) Having a constant live soundtrack to my day...
4) Daily/hourly hugs & high-fives from my new favorite people.
3) Acoustic sets of my favorite bands due to torrential downpours, & being able to photograph them!
2) Yard-long Margarita Happy Hours.
1) 3OH!3 dance parties and/or Bus dance parties.

Seriously, if you haven't been to Warped Tour yet (or are going again) do NOT miss
3OH!3, Mayday Parade, or The Academy Is... sets. You'll be sorry if you do!

I'm still not done editing and uploading my photographs from the dates I attended. I had so many technological issues when I was out, my phone refused to turn on and my computer started smoking (both in
Cleveland aka Day 1). Luckily, in Boston (tour off day, but Day 6) the Apple Store treated me well with a new cord for my PowerBook and the T-Mobile Store treated me grandly with a new plan and a new Blackberry Curve! :) Due to the set backs, half of my photographs are located on Kristie's computer which I will hopefully be obtaining sometime this week! :D

For now? Here are some of my favorite shots! Check out the rest on my
flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/audiolove .

Until next time,
xoxo audio love.
